After my junior year of high school, I participated in Leadership in the Business World at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Six 10-person teams worked to create a business of their own design from scratch to be judged by a panel of venture capitalists at the end of the program.

My team agreed on my proposal to start a molecular gastronomy restaurant. As the creative lead, I designed the visuals and floor layout of the restaurant. In addition, I filmed and edited a video with a local Philly chef and created a mockup of the restaurant in Google Sketchup for the final presentation.

LBW was my first experience living away from my family and my first exposure to people my age from around the world. Although I had my doubts about the efficacy of a 10-person team, everyone had something unique to contribute, and winning first place in the final competition was just the cherry on top of a great summer experience.
